Well, I always thought blogging was kind of silly...but now I am joining in!! :) I used to journal and loved it, but I got away from it, and I have missed it!! So this will be my journaling....although I guess now others can read it. Oh well! :) I am on the computer all the time, so it'll be nice to have a space to vent and write down some thoughts!!
Right now life is good! I have an amazing 18 month old son who suprises me, makes me laugh, makes me smile, and makes my heart glow daily! I am now 20 weeks pregnant with a baby girl. Hooray!!! I am married to a great guy....but we just need to reconnect. Things have definitely been rough lately. I have a job I love. I have many wonderful friends. So yes, life is beautiful. I am just trying to remind myself to stop and enjoy all the moments!!
I think if nothing else, I'd love to come on here and talk about Z's accoomplishments. I don't have a babybook where I write things down...I guess I am a bad mommy. All I have is my memory, pictures, and videos. I do take a video of him every month on his one month birthday at least.
Today he started to learn to count. It was so cute!! I never really thought to count with him before, but read a thread about kids this age starting to count, so I wondered if Z could pick it up. So today, while we were playing I just started counting to 10. I did this a few times, and then I started counting again and pausing and he started filling in some of the numbers. His memory amazes me. Anyway after counting to 10 about 20 times he was done for the day. :) However, he was able to count: 3, 4, 5, 6, 8, 9, 10 on his own when we stopped. :) I don't know why he skips 1,2 (he's known those numbers forever), and I think it is funny that he would always skip 7. :) Then tonight when I laid him to bed I heard him "counting" as he was doing his normal talking to sleep. He said 9, 10 a couple times and 3, 4 a couple times. haha!! :) too funny!!!
The other thing that he did today that amazed me was he seemed to understand the concept of plurals. He has been saying shoe or shoes, sock, socks, etc... but I never paid attention if he said it correctly and I think for the most part he probably didn't intentionally ever say it correctly. However, today I KNOW he did!! He loves hats, and says "hat" all the time....all the time. Anyway I don't know that I had ever heard him say hats though. Today I was sitting on the floor and he was bringing toys over to me and putting them on my head and saying "hat". (a game he loves to do). Well at one point he was able to balance 2 cup things on my head at the same time, and he laughed pointed at them and said: "two hatS". I was surprised. Then a few minutes later he did the same thing with the 2 cups, pointed up again and said "2 hatS". wowsers!! That may have been a simple thing...but I was impressed!!! :)
I love enjoying those moments and treasuring every little accomplishment he makes!! I hope I can remember to still do this when he is 5, 8, 13, 22, 43, etc... :)
Okay...enough for a first post.....geesh!
